The Zoom Virtual Background feature has been made to help you display an image or video as your background during a Zoom Meeting. To experience the best virtual background effect, Zoom recommends you to use a solid green color background and uniform lighting. With these recommended settings, Zoom detects the difference between you and your background easily.
This feature also allows you to upload your own images or videos as a virtual background with no restrictions to file size. However, cropping the image to match the aspect ratio of your camera before uploading it will always bring a better experience or effect.
Prerequisites:
1) Zoom Desktop Client for PC, version 4.4.53582.0519 or higher
2) Windows 7, 8, or 10 (64-bit)
3) 4th generation i7 quad-core or a higher processor
Based on the system/device you use and your needs, some of the prerequisites may vary though, the above ones are the primary and most commons. Having these requirements installed or in place mostly helps this feature function without any glitches.
The recommended process to enable this feature for yourself or a user
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click My Meeting Settings, if you are an account administrator or Meeting Settings, if you are an account member.
- Navigate to the Virtual Background option on the Meeting tab and verify that the setting is enabled.
Note: Please check the settings carefully and you must logout of the Zoom Desktop Client and login to back post making any changes to settings.
You can also enable this feature for all members of an organization or of a specific group.
So get set and zoom into your meeting!
